Seminars and Courses
Ongoing educational course offerings on a variety of topics including but not limited to Anger Management
and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training
(ASIST). These programs provide information, build skills and offer support to residents of Halton enabling them to better manage their mental health. Courses are offered in the evening, in both north and south Halton.
Mental Health Promotion
Participation in a variety of community displays, organizing events and attending corporate wellness days provide opportunities to promote mental health and wellness to the community. Participation on numerous community initiatives such as Halton Suicide Prevention Coalition, Halton Mental Health Promotions Committee, Special Education Advisory Committee of Halton District School Board and the Milton Hub provide opportunities to collaborate with other agencies around mental health initiatives.
The Mental Health Education/Promotion Program organizes special events, awareness building activities and engages the media during Mental Illness Awareness Week (Fall) and Mental Health Week (Spring) to raise the level of awareness in the community about the issue of mental health and wellness.

The Information & Referral Specialist can provide you with the first point of entry into the mental health care system of Halton Region: it provides general information and contact numbers for mental health care services throughout Halton.
The program goals are:
- to provide information on mental health services in Halton
- to assist during times of difficulty by providing resources and supportive listening
- to provide advocacy-based resources on mental health related matters.
